My Story
I started my journey as a visual artist and graphic designer and quickly moved into digital, web, and UX starting a small design agency I focused on visual, interaction, motion design and front-end development.
Joining Microsoft as a product designer, in 2004, I became enamored with the psychology of design and learned how to leverage customer research to inform innovative and high-impact design solutions. I worked on a variety of teams and products which broadened and advanced my craft in product design, business understanding, and team leadership, eventually moving into management/leadership roles.
In 2016, I had an opportunity to build out a design team and scale a cross-functional organization at a home services SaaS start up, Porch. I helped shift the culture from design as a service to design as a strategic partner, working with the executive team to define a new product vision and strategy, and showcasing design’s role in driving business impact.
In 2018, I joined Getty Images where I oversaw global customer facing search and e-commerce portfolios. I helped grow the design and research team and together we drove significant revenue impact through innovative new search features, e-commerce/purchase path optimization, and launching the first e-commerce enabled generative AI offerings.
I live near the Puget Sound, have two kids and love boating, playing/writing music, golfing, snowboarding, and fitness. I also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Donate Life (Organ Donation) after receiving a life-saving heart transplant myself in 2009.
